MAMIE PERRY was an R&B singer with the Gus Jenkins Orchestra based in Los Angeles in the mid-fifties. She recorded singles for 'Flash' and 'Pioneer International', the latter owned by Jenkins and Clayton Metzler. Her 'Flash' 45 features the moody "I'm Hurted" and the stroller "My Baby Waited Too Long", both excellent sides, but it is her super-rare her 1959 'Pioneer' recording "Lament" that captures our attention and that of collectors across Europe.
