“The long wait is nearly over, and we are finally on the brink of releasing our debut album. “I Wonder If The World Knows” is a written journey throughout the last couple of years of our lives throughout the ups, the downs and everything inbetween. We’ve put our heart and soul into making the perfect record and we can’t wait for you to hear it.”
If you haven’t encountered The K’s impassioned bangers, catch up. In the last 12 months alone, they’ve sold out a UK tour, and sold every ticket for their upcoming Manchester Academy show in under 24 hours. They opened the main stages at Isle of Wight and Neighbourhood Festivals, as well as gracing the main stages at Leeds, Reading & Kendal Calling, and tore the roof down at this year's Tramlines, with hundreds unable to get into the big top to see them play. They’ve supported Liam Gallagher, James and Blondie, their streams are also getting comfortably in the millions…not bad for a band from Warrington.
Their gigs are a guaranteed riot, with the recent 13 date sellout UK & Ireland tour leading them to being asked to put in a Royal Albert Hall appearance with Kasabian on their day off. This pulsing live reputation shouldn’t overlook the sophistication that gives The K’s their immediately identifiable blueprint though. Their debut single “Sarajevo” was one of the few rock & roll songs to namecheck Austro-Hungary, whilst notching up over 4 million streams in the process, and their recent single ‘Hoping Maybe’ became a phone-lights-on live anthem that reached number 2 on the iTunes chart, kept off the top spot only by Miley Cyrus.
So where next? The band have just been announced as main support on the upcoming tour for the recent number 1 album success story that is The Reytons, taking in arenas, warehouses and Academy venues.
Their debut album will be released in early 2024 on thriving Manchester indie LAB Records. With each new release, The K’s will just keep growing. A cult sensation, an irresistible, irrefutable spirit, welcoming to anyone who wants to join and escape into a better, more hopeful world.
