Prince Buster was one of the foundational figures in Jamaican music. His "Blue Beat Hits" refer to a prolific series of singles released on The Blue Beat Label, a term that eventually became a generic synonym for ska music during the early era and contines to this day as blue beat and ska. The tracks on this album are among Prince Buster's most famous releases and biggest hits on The Blue Beat Label, including "Al Capone", "One Step Beyond", (famously covered by Madness as their signature song), "Rough Rider" (also famously covered by The Beat) and "Enjoy It" (Enjoy Yourself) "It's Later Than You Think" (an extremely popular singalong anthem)! All tracks are remastered from the original releases on The Blue Beat Label and presented in the label's latest already iconic Blue Beat Label packaging.
