AURO, a collaboration project started by BRENDAN CANNING, an original member of the BROKEN SOCIAL SCENE, led by singer-songwriter CYNHHIA TAURO based in Toronto, Ontario. Her delicate melodies, as a jazz pianist, and CANNING's productions, which have led the Canadian indie scene, resonate with her and present extremely intimate and contemporary pop music.

1ST in 2026, which spontaneously came to fruition from an informal writing session in the living room. Inspired by intuition, this work prioritizes mutual trust and musical dialogue rather than detailed calculations, and the emotional pop songwriting blends in with the harmony and synth-driven textures derived from jazz. It is a work full of an inquisitive mind that pursues the natural direction that the song originally has through personal upheaval.

"Great Minds" flickers on the sophisticated rhythm section, "BAD BAD FEELING" with restrained experimentalism, "CHANGE IS STRANGE" with a soft singing voice with deep reverberations, etc. The floating feeling of dream pop and the simplicity of the indie fork have been sublimated into an organic and three-dimensional acoustic space by the skill of BRENDAN CANNING.

THOD D'ArcY, KINTARO AKIYAMA, JOSH TRAGER and other trusted collaborators have stepped aside, and while CYNHHIA TAURRO's perspective and singing voice are centered, the solid rock formation where important characters of the scene are named after the attention and singing voice, contributing. It is a monumental debut that has already attracted high support from major media such as KEXP and KCRW, and it is a monumental debut that foreshadows a long-term deepening as an artist that goes beyond just a one-time project.
